So first of all, what exactly is hard water? Well, when water falls into the atmosphere as rain, it doesn't have any minerals in it, and it is considered to be soft. One option that you may have heard of is a water softener, but many people really wonder if this is the right solution. Water softeners may increase what you pay on your utility bills, can raise levels of sodium in water, and increase the amount of water you use as well. There are some other solutions though that can work, such as using quality filters to filter out the heavy metals that make your water hard.
